A beautiful soul - 1 year later

  May 21st, 2022. The world lost one of the most beautiful souls ever to grace us with her presence.  Joanne Labelle - wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, neighbour, friend, pharmacist extraordinaire. Tragically, her life was cut short when a "Derecho" blew through Apsley, ON where she was camping on friends' property. She was on her way from the camper to the house to be safely sheltered from the storm when a large tree fell on her. She never had a chance. She was rushed to the air ambulance, but never made it to the hospital. All of her family and friends were absolutely stunned. No one could truly comprehend, in that moment, the loss which we had all just suffered. Jo was an angel on Earth. She always had time for anyone who needed a friend, professional advice, or simply a book recommendation. Field Trips and End of Year

  'Tis the season for field trips! So far, Lorrie and I have taken our kids to Lamoureux Park/Splashpad and the Aquatic Centre and today we went to the Native North American Traveling College on Cornwall Island. What an amazing experience! I was quite fearful, when booking our trip to the NNATC, that it wouldn't be engaging enough for the kids or they simply wouldn't like the experience and would act as such. I could not  have been more wrong! Smiles were everywhere and kids were excited to see artifacts, displays, and learn the creation story. They listened to our hosts and enjoyed exploring the items which were presented to them. While I would have liked to have seen more hands-on activities, for the hour and a half for which we were there, what was presented to us was fantastic! I strongly recommend that anyone and everyone take a trip over to the island and explore what the NNATC has to offer.  Next up, next week, a trip to the Aquatic Centre (maybe picnic lunch first...
